SERDANG, April 29 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) students from the Student Representative Council (MPP) Session 2020/2021 and the College Representative Council (MPK) of Pendeta Za'ba College, UPM, have worked together to prepare bubur lambuk (rice porridge) and distributed them to UPM students in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.
The Ramadan Baroqah programme began with the preparation of bubur lambuk and later distributed to UPM students at 4 pm, involving nine UPM residential colleges.
The ingredients and cooking utensils were fully sponsored by Cengkih Catering Servis. The programme was held at the Dataran Temenggung, Pendeta Za'ba College.
MPP President (YDP), UPM, Muhammad Huzaifi Ismut, said the programme could strengthen the ukhwah (brotherhood) among student leaders and provide traditional cuisine for iftar to students on campus.
"On behalf of the community at the Pendeta Za'ba College, UPM, and the Programme Committee, I would like to thank Cengkih Catering Servis for making this programme a success by contributing ingredients and cooking utensils to cook bubur lambuk,” he said.
UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, and the Principal of Pendeta Za'ba College, Dr. Mohd Hafiz Mohd Zaid; Head of Housing and Settlement Division, Mohammed Shukri and Administrative Officer of Pendeta Za'ba College, Nazaruddin Ramli, were also present at the event to provide moral support to the students. - UPM
