SERDANG, May 24 - The Registrar’s Office, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), has conferred seven awards to staff who had shown excellence in their roles, in conjunction with the award ceremony, Majlis Gemilang Putra (MGP) 2022, here.
UPM Vice-Chancellor, YH. Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, expressed his hope for all UPM staff to continue achieving success and to show a high-performance work culture in performing their daily tasks.
"I believe in the sincerity of UPM staff in carrying out the responsibilities entrusted which give major impact to UPM and become an inspiration to other UPM staff," he said.
Meanwhile, UPM Registrar, Muhazam Mansor, hoped the award recipients would continue to play their roles as a catalyst of excellence for other UPM staff as well as maintain their outstanding work in improving the quality of services to the community and the country.
He further said that those who did not receive an MGP award should not feel unappreciated.
"Appreciation is shown in various events as the university believes that excellence can be seen from numerous perspectives, and one of them is through the delivery of services in daily tasks," he said.
Meanwhile, the MGP 2022 awards were presented by UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Nazamid Saari.
MGP 2022 is the university’s recognition ceremony for staff who displayed excellent performance in 2021. A total of five categories were awarded, including the Jasamu Dikenang Award, which was awarded to 11 officers who had passed away.
Apart from that, 135 Jasa Putra Awards were presented to officers who had retired, and another 11 officers received the Over 40 Years’ Service Award for serving for 40 and more years at UPM. The Excellent Service Award was received by 497 officers who diligently served the university in 2021.
Recipients of the Exemplary Worker Award were Assoc. Ir. Dr. Mohd Sapuan Salit (Management and Professional Category), Mohd Isnain Ali (Non-Academic Category) and Mohd Masran Hj.Mat Aris (Executive Officer Category). - UPM
