SELAYANG - The Chemistry Club in collaboration with the Faculty of Science Students’ Association, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Humanitarian Aid Selangor Society whipped into shaping a programme called Tinta Kasih 3.0: Setiap Pertemuan, Mencipta Kenangan (Every Meeting, Creating Memories) to inculcate the interest of Rohingya refugee children in the science subject.
The programme was carried out at Sekolah Pelangi Kasih, Batu Caves, Selayang.
Dean of Faculty of Science, UPM, Prof. Dr. Mohd Basyaruddin Abdul Rahman, said the aspiration of the programme was to build up the interest of Rohingya children in the science subject.
Programme Advisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Intan Safinar Ismail, said the programme had the opportunity to teach Rohingya refugee children about Science from the perspective of Islam in terms of hygiene.
The team prepared various interesting science concept activities such as the Invisible Ink Experiment, Lava Lamp and Elephant Toothpaste to fascinate the children.
The Rohingya refugee children at Sekolah Pelangi Kasih had fun participating in all the activities, and hopefully, these enjoyable moments trigged their interest in learning Science subject during the school session. - UPM
