SERDANG, Jan 10 – Hailing from a family with deep-rooted values in ?€??€?education has encouraged the twins, Fazirah Samah and Nazirah Samah, 25, to successfully graduate with degrees from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK) at the 44th Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Convocation Ceremony here.
Fazirah completed a Bachelor of Science Nutrition and Community Health programme, while her sister, Nazirah, completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences.
Their sister, Dr. Rozana Samah, a lecturer with Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), was their source of inspiration, and the resolution to repay the sacrifices of their parents had encouraged the twins to complete their studies.
Originally from Malacca, the twins were former students of Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science (ASPER), UPM, and they are currently pursuing their master's degrees in the same field at the National University of Malaysia (UKM).
Fazirah and Nazirah, who are also cat lovers, emphasised the importance of having a good support system in their journey of completing their studies, especially during their final year of studies which was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. - UPM
