SERDANG, MARCH 24 – "Alhamdulillah, I am a teacher and a mother of seven children who managed to endure the struggle throughout my studies at the master's level until the end despite having to face various challenges," said the Master of Education in Educational Administration graduate, Saptuyah Latif.
Saptuyah, 40, successfully graduated today at the 45th Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Convocation Ceremony.
According to Saptuyah, throughout her studies, she faced enormous challenges such as having a miscarriage, becoming pregnant with her seventh child and finishing her projects in confinement.
"Alhamdulillah, throughout my study, I managed to obtain excellent results with four flats twice within two semesters," she said.
For her, among the learning tips that she practised were that students need to focus on the things they want to do, never once look back, and always do their best.
Hailing from Kuching, Sarawak, she was also grateful to her husband, who always supported and helped her throughout her studies, especially in household matters such as taking care of the children.
She added that in terms of time management, she gave her full attention while being in class and submitted every assignment on time.
When asked about the sweet and bitter memories during her studies, she said most of them were sweet memories where she had the opportunity to meet students from different backgrounds.
“My plan for the future is that I want to further my studies, and it will not stop here only. This is because I am very interested in research”.
Among the mottoes Teacher Saptuyah held was, "if other people can do it, why can't we do it and always challenge ourselves to do something". - UPM.
