SERDANG, Sept 25 – Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS) Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has launched pharmaBOX, an automated pharmaceutical service system that provides out-patients easy access to collect their medications without having to go to the counter.
Director of HSAAS UPM, Prof. Dr. Hamidon Basri explains that pharmaBOX allows the out-patients to collect their follow-up medications at any time within three days after the issuance of the PIN, and this facility operates 24 hours a day.
"Patients can park their vehicles in the special parking lot located at the Family Medicine Centre lobby (FMC) HSAAS for 15 minutes to collect the medications. This facility provides convenience to patients who need to collect their medication," he said during the celebration of World Pharmacy Day here today.
Meanwhile, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Industry and Community Relations), Prof. Ir. Dr. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharudin, said pharmacists play a big role in the management of medicine for the public. They need to adhere to the 5B concept.
"The 5B practice refers to the right medicine user, the right medicine, the right dose, the right way of taking the medicine, and the right time.
"Furthermore, the launch of pharmaBOX under the Department of Pharmacy also improves the service to patients while improving the overall quality of HSAAS services," he said. - UPM
