SERDANG, Jan 12 – Building a family while studying and then managing the family and child while still pursuing her studies, Amirah Othman has to forget about tiredness and raise her commitment to succeed academically.
Amirah, 27, who hails from Perlis, also had to sell chips and brownies to increase her income as she had failed to secure a sponsorship.
Currently residing in Jengka, Pahang, she received her Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree at the 44th Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Convocation Ceremony here today.
Amira built her family in her 4th Semester and is now blessed with a child. She said despite having a family while studying, she did not make it an excuse not to get a degree successfully; instead, it motivated her.
During her studies, she also had to commute between Jengka and UPM.
“Behind the success of being called a graduate today, there are loved ones who have always given their support. My child has also been my motivator,” she added. - UPM
