SERDANG, Nov 25 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues to achieve impressive achievement in the QS Asia University Rankings 2021 when it managed to leap from its position at rank 33rd last year to rank 28th best university in Asia this year.
This ranking had placed UPM as the second-best university in Malaysia and thus made its history when it managed to make a continuous leap for seven (7) years in a row.
In reference to the achievements in the QS Asia University Rankings 2021, the Faculty Staff with PhD and Inbound Exchange Student indicators were seen as the main strength of UPM with 100% scoring as well as the Outbound Exchange Student indicators with a total score of 99.99%.
This proves the high quality of UPM academics, as well as the effectiveness of UPM mobility programmes, had given a positive impact in establishing strategic cooperation with international institutions.
UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, expressed his appreciation to all staff and students who contributed to UPM success in improving the performance of the institution in Asia, and he hoped that this commitment would continue to raise UPM profile among international institutions further.
"The five-step leap is an impressive performance for UPM given the competition and encouraging performance from regional institutions as well as having to face a new global challenge, the Covid-19 pandemic, which has affected the operations of the global higher education sector to some extent," he said. -UPM
