KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10: Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and BookDoc, an online healthcare platform, forged partnership today on internship placement, health research and cooperation in promoting a healthy lifestyle and raising awareness on mental health.
Both parties will focus on the use of BookDoc events and news platform to publicise UPM’s health-related activities to the faculties, students and the general public.
The collaboration will also involve transforming existing approaches to mental health and addressing social isolation problem.
UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datin Paduka Dato' Dr Aini Ideris, said the partnership is a win-win situation for UPM and BookDoc.
"This collaboration will benefit UPM students in internship, academic-industry partnerships and the development of digital infrastructure in line with IR 4.0, Sustainable Development Goals and research opportunities," she said.
Meanwhile, BookDoc Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Chevy Beh, said the collaboration is in line with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) initiative to develop essential skills to ensure Malaysia's growth and competitiveness.
He hoped the collaboration in telemental health would help to meet Malaysians’ need for convenient, affordable and accessible health services. - UPM
