SERDANG, 6 November 2024 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has advanced in the 2025 QS World University Rankings: Asia, now securing the 20th position, a five-spot rise from last year's 25th place.
This improvement is attributed to UPM's advancements in Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, and Outbound Exchange Students, reflecting the commitment of UPM's community to academic excellence, graduate employability, and meaningful global experiences for students.
In the assessment, UPM also maintained strong performance in International Students, Inbound Exchange Students, and its International Research Network, further solidifying its role as an inclusive and collaborative institution.
However, there is still room for further improvement in indicators such as Citation per Paper and Paper per Faculty, which could enhance research impact, faculty productivity, and UPM's standing in the QS World University Rankings: Asia.
With this achievement, UPM is now among the top 2% of universities out of 984 in Asia, ranked second-best in Malaysia, and remains committed to advancing its mission and contributing to the nation and society.
